Weighing up buying your own tourer? Renting first is a good way to find out what you actually want, but that's a bonus, most people who book are just here for the trip.
The fleet
Bikes & equipment
Two tourers, set up for multi-day loaded riding on gravel, forest paths and quiet lanes. Both come fitted to you at pickup, with the full kit below included as standard.
The low-maintenance workhorse
A steel expedition tourer built around a Pinion gearbox and Gates belt drive, so there's no derailleur to wreck on a gravel road two days from anywhere. The bike I ride myself.

The big-tyre explorer
A rigid steel adventure bike with room for serious rubber, happiest when the route turns into forest gravel or singletrack. The more playful of the two.

Choose a start date on the calendar and a trip length. Delivery to Groningen or Drenthe is €50 on top, or collect for free in Haren, coffee included.

From booking to the first pedal stroke

Book above: pick a start date, a trip length, and whether you're collecting or want delivery.
Meet in Haren, or wait for delivery
Collect from our base in Haren, coffee included, or we bring the bike and kit to your door in Groningen or Drenthe for €50.
Paperwork and a proper equipment check
ID and a short rental agreement, then we go through the bike and every piece of kit together, so nothing is a surprise on the road.

Where to ride
Local routes, two to three days
A handful of loops from Groningen and Drenthe to get you started. Exact tracks and distances get sharper once you book, we'll send GPX files and a short briefing.
Drentsche Aa valley
Quiet lanes and gravel through the stream valley south of the city. Flat, sheltered, and an easy-going first loaded trip.
Lauwersmeer & the coast
Open polder and lake edge out to the Wadden coast. Big skies, wide horizons, and a proper sunset at the end of the day.
Westerwolde forests
More forest gravel and a bit more relief, by Dutch standards. Better suited to the Tanami if the tracks turn rough.

Looking ahead
Building a bikepacking community in Groningen
This started as a way to get more people out on proper loaded trips without buying a bike and a full kit first. Longer term, the plan is bigger than rentals: a proper local scene around trip planning, group rides, and swapping route notes, and somewhere to gather around it.
